To launch the Thompson’s wine brand, we have sourced grapes from our vineyards in the captivating valley of Patutahi, Gisborne. All our vineyards are Sustainable Wine growing NZ accredited and we integrate the philosophy of biodiversity to enhance soil health and nurture a balanced vine growing environment.
IT ALL BEGAN ...
... with one tonne of the very best Chardonnay we grew in 2020. It was the first crop of clone 548 Chardonnay that was just spectacular – hand harvested, indigenous ferment, 80% new oak and full malolactic fermentation. It’s all gone - sorry.
After a resoundingly positive reception, we decided to continue our winemaking journey – treading carefully, with only the very best fruit and small batches of wine.
